Kayan Berd was built in 1233 and is located between the monasteries of Sanahin and Haghpat. The fort is protected by the little St. Godmother’s church of Dsevank.
On the left bank of Dzoraget river, not too far from Stepanavan city, lie the ruins of medieval fortress-city Loriberd. In the 10-12cc it was the center of Lori princedom.
