The monastery of Tatev was the religious center of historical Syunik princedom. For many times the monastery was destroyed by attacks, foreign invasions and earthquakes. The main cathedral of St. Peter and Paul(895-906) was built by Hovhannes bishop of Syunik and was attached to the northern side of St. Gregory’s vaulted church. St. Godmother’s church was built in 12th century. In 895 the famous \'moving obelisk\' was built – dedicated to the Holy Trinity.
Sisavank cathedral is situated in Sisavan – the regional center of Sisian. It was constructed in 7th century by Kohazat prince of Syunik by the support of Hovsep bishop of Syunik and Theodoros monk.
